Wax flows in it's molten state, making it an exciting medium to work with, I am drawn to the sea and the natural world where I gather my inspiration for my paintings and ceramic forms, if you would like to learn these techniques and methods come along and be inspired, based near Lyme Regis, Dorset, nestled between the coast and the countryside, the Jurassic Coast remade in hot wax.

  5. Here is a lovely review from one of my recent workshops here in Sunny Devon/Dorset, I happen to live on the borderline only a mile from Lyme Regis, it is a great place to live and work and an especially great place to visit with its inspiring landscape and wonderful Jurassic coastline what could be better than learning a new skill whilst enjoying some good food and a walk along the beach!.

"Visiting Dawn in her workshop back in March this year was a real treat, in every sense of the word.  The weekend course was given to me for a birthday present from my husband.  Uplyme in Dorset is beautiful and working in Dawn's garden workshop was a very peaceful and interesting to experience.  Dawn took me through everything from the beginners basics of applying molten wax to the substrate to encaustic photograph transfer, engraving, shellac burning to name a few.  Dawn has a true gift in her work with encaustic and she generously gives her workshop attendees her many years of experience and knowledge.

I have no doubt I shall be back for more at some point in the future.  Thanks Dawn for a truly great course."
